The Stocker/Freight Team Member at Home Depot is responsible for ensuring that products are properly stocked and readily available for customers. This role involves the efficient unloading, stocking, and organizing of merchandise in the store. The Stocker/Freight Team Member works to maintain inventory accuracy and a clean, safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Unloading Trucks: Safely and efficiently unload merchandise from delivery trucks. Verify the accuracy of shipments and report any discrepancies.
• Stocking Shelves: Stock shelves and displays with products according to Home Depot’s merchandising standards. Ensure that items are correctly priced and labeled.
• Inventory Management: Assist with inventory control by accurately tracking and organizing products in the stockroom and on the sales floor. Participate in inventory counts and audits.
• Replenishment: Monitor inventory levels on the sales floor and replenish stock as needed to ensure product availability for customers.
• Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including proper handling of equipment and hazardous materials
• Customer Assistance: Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers in locating products and answering questions. Direct customers to appropriate departments or team members for further assistance.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other associates to ensure efficient store operations and a positive shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Previous experience in retail, stocking, or warehouse operations is preferred.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to follow instructions. Good communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy items. Must be able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods. Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, is a plus.
